When life gets overwhelming, I tend to R.U.N. to my blog~ So here goes...
Dear Blog,
I don't know how much more I can handle. Carter fell out the tree two weeks ago, he is doing well now, I am drowned out in Dentist appointments, now Sunday night Carter fell off his trike on the door jam and something is not right in the rump area. Last night my wonderful Brother Ben and his girlfriend took all the potty trained Nieces and Nephews out to Rosie's Cozy Kitchen and than to the play ground. I never thought about putting restrictions on Carter, and he fell again....this time leaving him in excruciating pain. Wayne and I no more than got our subs, so we headed out to pick him up-short lived date, but that is ok. Now I am worried sick about Carter. We called Bob-Dr. Elliott and asked him what he thought. I was wondering about a broken tailbone. But he said that the tail bone is still cartilage In children that age. with a direct blow accident like that, it would more likely be the hip. NOT WHAT I WANTED TO HEAR.
So after a full day of juggling schedules, I am now trying to juggle even more schedules today, not to mention that we are leaving next week on a trip..
So once day light hits, I need to figure out when Kayla should go to the patch, Austin mow at the sawmill, and Carter to the Dr. I am Thankful that I was able to get the majority of my 72lbs. of strawberries put in the freezer last night-late.
Yesterdays schedule~ We left the house at 8:00. Dropped Annie and Carrie off at their babysitters. Dropped Kayla off at the patch to pick for Lowell and Austin and Cheyenne off at the patch to pick 100 lbs. for me-of berries. They managed to get 72lbs picked. Which I was grateful for, there was 3 bus loads of youngsters come to the field so that done a number on the berry population! Carter and I went to the dentist and I took Dakota along to babysit Jesse. It was just a huge day, but you know everyday has been like this, just so busy and HUGE for me to get through. Exhausting. Carrie and Cheyenne stumbled over each other last night after they got home and that put Carrie in a hand brace for the night-she cried and cried saying her bone hurt so bad, and to be honest it was jutting out kind've weird like in her palm of her hand-maybe I will let the house sleep till noon-they are safer in bed right ;)
I am sitting here at the desk watching the sunrise! It is a beautiful glowing orange color. The clock is chiming and the birds singing. Life really couldn't' be much better could it?
I hear Jesse's little blanket rattling, so must go check him out~

The weekend is past and we are into a brand new week. I sat here this morning reminiscing over the past few days and all that we got done or didn't get done. The fun times and moments captured on camera.
One that I didn't capture on camera was the mowing incident. Wayne drove the mower up to Chapel (our little church on the corner) He thought he would help Donnie out with the mowing. Wayne was working on weed eating and Kayla on mowing when the mower refused to cut grass any more. It wasn't long and Donnie was making quick moves off his mower....it had gotten hot and was on the verge of bursting into flames. Thankfully Joyce was mowing with a nice mower and that was pulled in on the scene to finish the job! "Hey, you can't say we didn't try to get the church yard grass down and presentable" *wink*
The other highlight to the weekend was Dad, Mom and Seth showing up and getting the skid steer up and running. And clean up happened in the yard! Oh was I excited. Our My goal is to have the yard obstacle free so mowing is a breeze! Oh and did I mention we were cleaning out the basement...getting the barn stuff moved to the barn! Oh I was beside myself!!!!! We still have a long ways to go on basement cleaning-but it's a start.
A day at Grandma's last week. All of us girls went home for the day. These are the three little ones that are very close in age.. a lot of fun!
Carrie had fun rocking little Nikki.

You can tell what Logan's dad does a lot of! fishing
It was so warm that day in the house with out A.C. that we all went home feeling sick, and I ended up with a migraine that night.
Every now and than we get a big smile out of this fellow.. We love him so much, even though he continually gets his days and nights mixed up and keeps momma feeling in an exhausted state of being.
Sweet hands...
And now it is time to get busy and get some work knocked out. Kayla is in the strawberry patch this morning..

It takes courage to wake a sleeping house. So I will give myself 10 more minutes of quiet solitude...
When they awake, it is cooking, and cleaning till bedtime. But that's ok, I do kind've enjoy it!
We needed Family pictures, for more than one reason. It's one of those things ~ you just start snapping pictures, than bring them in the house and hope you can edit them to where they are at least a little clearer ;) and maybe you can find one that the children are all looking the same direction. WAIT- but that wouldn't be a normal picture if they were all looking at the camera, think I will choose the one that they are looking all different directions-that is what they call a GOOD PICTURE!!
This is how I spend some of my days.. In the rocker rocking away.
This is a normal finding. Carter waiting patiently while Carrie is into the wires on the tractor. She is my 'hands on' girl!
And would you all please look at the camera? and at the same time? After we were finished with pictures I just had to sit in the rocker In the yard and watch Wayne work up the other garden. The air was a mite crisp, Whippoorwills were singing and it was just relaxing to sit outside. And breath in that fresh air.
My second cup of coffee is down, clock just chimed, milking is done, breakfast is in the oven, the day has officially started!

I think about this blog often, but just the thought of updating and writing make my shoulders sag with overwhelmed feelings. I would rather shop online than write an epistle saying how I am feeling right now. Now don't get me wrong, I really am feeling quite fine since having Jesse, but I do find myself getting overwhelmed with simple things such as updating a blog, sewing a dress, baking a cake...etc.
Yesterday was one of those bad days, no amount of coffee would help the headache that was threatening to turn Migraine. Exhaustion took over and I crawled in bed and slept for a number of hours, waking up only to crash again. I feel better this morning.. but know by afternoon I will feel exhausted again. A lot of this is due to Jesse sleeping in his own bed now, and he sleeps really good there, better than in my bed...but I don't sleep. A.T. A.L.L. I didn't go to sleep till after 2 am (this morning)

Evenings I go outside, either to watch Wayne milk or to look at the garden. Things really do tend to look brighter when your out smelling the fresh air, and listening to the hoot owls and whippoorwills!
And than like last evening the sunset was just gorgeous. We all sat out front on the front porch sipping coffee and watching the cows graze our front lawn down to where it should be ;)
The children find my flower beds the best place to play-ride there trike, they have their trails to ride on.
Yesterday was another mile stone, Jesse is now 8 weeks old. Yesterday on the day he turned 8 wks. old, he started grinning from ear to ear, he was caught sucking his thumb twice, and fussed all day long. Something he hasn't done yet!
We deem this little guy the cutest/sweetest thing around. He has brought joy to our home!
I look back at the last year, it has been rough, we have had a lot of pain, but also there has been healing through it all. We now look at death in a totally different way, we have lost 4 loved ones and it has been hard in a lot of ways.
Wednesday Pappa and Grandma showed up with an early Christmas gift-my chiming Clock! I was so excited, I commenced to baking and cleaning like never before! The twins and Annie treat it with a reverence. when it starts chiming they say "SHHH, the heart is singing", and they sit there in silence till it is finished chiming. Dad is giving each of us children a clock for Christmas, it's a good thing he has started early, because he has one down and 8 to go yet ;)
The wringer washer is going and I aim to clean some house today-so best get moving while the baby is sleeping soundly.
